Bought a new daily/winter beater and have an issue with the ac, it blows out the passenger side nice and cold but on the driver side its not nearly as cool.
I do not have the elcetronic climate control or the passenger controls. Its just the old 3 knob style. Any ideas would be appreciated.

A/C undercharged. I had this happen on a Trailblazer recently, due to low freon the compressor was not cycling long enough. You would get cold air on the p/s because of it being closer to the evaporator core, but by the time it made it to the d/s vents it was 10-20 degrees warmer. You should get it charged/dyes so you can have it checked for leaks, if it is in fact low.

what he said. the evap is on the pass. side. have the system evac. vacuumed and recharched with dye to see if its leaking i doubt it but. since it needs a recharche any way put dye in it

If it is low on freon, it's because it is leaking. The a/c system is a SEALED system. If it is low, it went somewhere.

well yea but most systems leak down slowly over time. It may not have to great of a leak. the dye would tell you where it would be coming from tho.

Well im taking it in this week and there going to check to see if it charged up properly and if not top it off. Hopefully its a simple fix its a $800 car not stickin much into it.
