I've always liked the look of them, but they're probably an arm and a leg to maintain. And after the first time you see a newer XK, the old one kind of looks bland.

Gorgeous cars...

4.0 v8 is fairly decent, supercharged one is more desirable and looks even better.

Not sure of the reliability and cost of maintenance though.

I would say it depends on how well it was maintained by previous owner (s)
Preventative mainrenace is the key with these..

They do look nice, Elegant but understated...

OK, after looking at that site, idk how much i care to believe it. i searched a car i am pretty knowledgeable on. and they bring up a few "problems" that i hear very little of. and other problems that are alot more common aren't on there. also the prices to fix the car is blown WAAAY out of proportion.

older jags are horrible for reliability. the 4.0 is the same engine as the 3.9 in the lincoln ls. the new jags are much better, however you will be spending a lil more than 7500$ :)

Great looking cars, but yeah only on British cars are constant repairs considered "regular maintenance". Parts can also get hideously expensive if you have to get them from a dealer.

How many "highway miles" were spent idling while stuck in chicago traffic? I learned my lesson. No more import "deals" out of Illinois.

Good looking car. I wouldn't want the pay the maintenance fees.

the motors are good as long as the timing chain guides and tensioners have been changed over to the metal versions (as opposed to all plastic which comes factory). The originals tensioners are of very poor quality and fail quite often which makes for a expensive valve job.

Its a 7.5k car, but still costs like a 75k car to repair and maintain. Avoid it, unless you got the bank.

not considering buying it...just thought it was a hot carthat they are...but you want to know what was better? Aston Martin's. Pure sex of a car.

Jag's XK's were simply poor man's astons in those years. But even modern astons pale compare to the ones of the 80's...

I think they're hot... But not in that color, I'd have to get a british racing green, or bright blue one...

I'd also buy one, and not worry about repair costs. Those are WAY BETTER than the Jags from the 80s...

Nice car, however it is not sc'd, not a vert (they look so much better imo), and it is totally the wrong color
