...Dennis' Towing on Lisbon & Lilly.
Long story short, my brothers Talon was towed there April 30th, no paperwork signed, didnt even go to the place, blah blah.
- 1 month later, Chrysler denies accident was from balljoint recall (not done) b.s. right there.
- 2 months later (today), insurance cuts check for $3,600.
Also today:
- Dennis' Towing flatbeds Talon to dealer for estimate/list of things I'll fix myself.
- Dennis' Towing total bill... $1,770!
- Charged $135 for two flatbed tows, + $1,500 storage. ($25/day - 60 days)
They never said *anything* about a storage fee, nor bothered to call & tell him of the large ass bill he was racking up. (course not)
Woulda had it towed to our ****** driveway if we knew.
I had my white Talon at Griffin Mitsu. for well over 2 months, they did nothing but store it, no storage fee.
They absolutely refused to even give a break on the price, and gave ridiculous **** comments like:
"how would you like it if we came and parked a car on your driveway for 2 months for free?"
"we have a fee to pay for keeping cars stored"
"we can't do anything"
They should collect tomorrow morning with a ******* gun & ski mask.
Going to *try* and get insurance to pay for it/some of it.

there has to be some sort of legal paperwork/work order that has to be signed, like a quote on work to be done. if there was nothing, i don't think a company has a right to do that. i'd sugest giving a call to the lawyer that is in the above stickied "speeding" post and ask his thoughts on the matter. then you can go in with a name and a law specification saying they can't do that. if that doesn't work, call the local police and have one of them escort you there. OH yeah, now I remember. There is a law that allows you to have a police officer watch over you "search and seizure" your own property that is illegally being held. People use it when moving companies hold their stuff for ransom after upping the original "bill/quote" for the moving. I read it in People magazine and it might apply to this. I just wish I knew what the actual name was.

Gatzke and Rupelt law offices in New Berlin ask for Scott. They kick a$$!! I am using them to deal with an old landlord and yet another ticket.

think they can get a two year old accident ticket off my record? It will help when I go back to school this fall (premed).

to add to the story, got paperwork in the mail that says:
radio: (missing) -$150

There's horrible photocopys of the car that barely show anything, but I can definitely see the radio harness sticking out in one picture, wtf!!! Someone jacked the stereo while it was sitting in the lot, and we're out $150 extra... :guns1

i think that the $150 is subtracted off your total bill because it was stolen while it was on their lot. What you have to do before signing ANYTHING or talking to them again, is contact a lawyer. They failed to file a police report for the stolen property. They have to do that because it happened in their possession and on their lot. if they didn't, they are in deep **** and you have the upper hand. Call the lawyer dammit. RIGHT FRIGGIN NOW and leave a message explaining who you are and how you came about with the number and that you need his legal advice. I'd be ALL over this if it were my car/situation.
