"Pinks All Out" this weekend

We are getting ready to leave for "Pinks All Out" @ route 66 raceway in Joliet, Il. We have hit a bunch of stumbling blocks with the Thunderbird along the way and hope this is a record setting weekend for all involved. I am asking Ron to keep all of you up to date this weekend on the happenings and the performance of the cars, both the 'Bird and the Fairmont. I am hoping my son gets in the show, but you just don't know what the times will be to make the field. Thanks to everyone interested and we hope to relay great news soon.

Track was hideous. Pete Demos (Chicago wise guy) approached me and told me that his good friend preps Route 66, and was told by Pinks that they "do not" want a prepped track-they do not have time for driveline breakage, and that "this is a TV show, not a real drag race". Proof of this is when the Outlaw super stocks ran, they couldn't lift the wheels!! Just a sea of 14x32 tire, tin interior, tow up 10 and 9 second cars. They actually picked an 8.60 field though, fastest field in Pinks history, and my friend Don Mateicka Jr. went to the last 8 cars. These cars were full-on big tire race cars. I don't know when it will be aired-no one could answer that. Lastly, what Rich Christianson did to me on the starting line was phukkin' bullshit-people that were there know. I will NEVER go to one of these again! They are waayyyy more concerned about their "TV" show than racer safety. This is what happens when a bowflex commercial model runs a racing show!

Jim,i think i read Aug 19 it's going to be aired.I heard from a few people that it was pretty bad down there,hours just to get into the pits,hours to get through tech,not prepped.People said that the 11.5 would have been a good class(which would have pissed me off even more for not getting selected)but they went with the faster $100,000+built cars,what happened to grass roots racing?

Tim i agree that they should have shown Matts car,he raced that yellow Nova in the first round,but in the arm drop round he blew a hole in his back cyl. head,if he didn't break he would have been in the quick 8.
They showed my car a couple times on that show and on the out takes show:thumbsup.

It took us 4.5 hours to get into the pits on Thursday. Tech was long also, but not nearly as bad as getting into the pits was.

I wish we could have found some of the BCM guys, the fuel pump went out on our truck in the pits when we went to leave yesterday. Ended up driving the Monte home and trailering the truck to a guys house further south in Illinois.

We really had a good time until the truck broke, but even that wasnt enough to ruin it. Car ran good and was dead consistent, mid 11 second class would have been OK with me too. :shades

Rich turns and looks at him going down the track while I am on the 'brake. Then Rich turns back and tells me to wait-he let the other guy come back to rerun the race!!!!
All the Phukkin' around and I drove through my own oil 'cause it pushed the rear main seal.

I went to Memphis in 2009-track was hookin' and you had to be one of the 8 fastest cars to be in the "quick 8" which I made.
