I recently purchased an Edelbrock dual four intake manifold for my on-going 409 engine build. I get the manifold and all looks well except for it seems to be missing a couple parts. An irritation. I call them to try and get the parts sent out to me.

them: "Sir those parts aren't offered for this manifold."

me: "Ummm....it says right here on this piece of paper they should be included" (a PCV baffle plate and screws).

them: "Okkkkkkkkkaaaayyy......ummm. We'll have someone call you back."

Two hours go by. They call back only this time with a chief design engineer and a product specialist on a conference call with me.

them: "Can we ask how you came about this manifold? Where did you buy it? That manifold in production does not include a machined fitting for a PCV valve, a grommet, baffle or drive screws. Seems you might have a pre-production model."

WHAT!? At first I was a bit frustrated but it seems I got a hand-finished, pre-production manifold from their stock...one I shouldn't have gotten. :wooo Wonder how rare of a piece this is????

They owe me yet another call back once they figure out "what they can do." I wonder if they are going to try and get it back?

well and I was thinking of doing something like that. I noticed nothing about it that looked different or had pen marks on it or anything odd like that. Looked like a regular manifold to me. Their solution will probably to have me send it back and they will swap it for a production manifold. Funny thing is I noticed a decal on the box was dated something much earlier than when I thought they started shipping (its a new piece for them).

It's probably from Vic's special stock, and highly illegal in CA or something.

That's like the engine rebuilder company that sent me a 351 instead of the 302 I was supposed to get. Mechanic really didn't think anything about it until the company called realizing their mistake and wanted the mill back. Mechanic told them that the customer was from out of town and doesn't know how to get a hold of him. I had a pretty quick Grand Marquis sedan cuz of that.
