Yeah I wish it had woken me up so I could say I've been though one!

But I also found out that Milwaukee had another earthquake about 20 years ago. Obvously it wasn't huge but its something!

Supposedly Waukesha has a fault line running though the quarry by 164. So it definatly can happen!

Illinois should keep their earthquakes to them self’s :goof

Oh yea 5% are not sure if the fell the earthquake. They must be looking around their house for the truck that hit them.

Yeah I didnt get that either. You either felt it or you didn't. Maybe you should go help them search.

OKAY, SO I'M NOT CRAZY!

I felt that last night... my computer desk started wobbling with my leg pressed up against it. At first, I thought, what the hell, earthquake, nah probably just my leg cramping up...

BUT IT WAS! Holy crap!

That was cool! When do we get another 4ish on the scale earthquake!

I felt it, I was trying to fall asleep and it shook the whole house. I though there was a big car or train accident or something, didnt find out till I got to work what it was.

Anyone see that new Crunch bar commercial with Shaq where he bites on the candy bar in the middle of the dessert and then california falls in the ocean? Just kinda made me think of that, lol.

I didnt feel anything here in New Berlin.

I felt it in new berlin here. It seems like it only hit a line of people or something. Kinda strange. There really wasnt any noise at all... things just started to move. I was sitting on a rolling chair and i felt myself move backwards. I'm like... a buh?? :wtf then the blinds started moving.

so now we've had floods, tornados, and an earthquake. i think the world is ending!

Felt it here in Cedarburg. I couldn't sleep and I thought that the sump pump was having some major problems, a bit of thunder, or the garage door was opening. Otherwise, I didn't think that it was an earthquake till I heard the news.

Speaking about the mississippi river, did anyone see that documentary about the faults in Missouri? If I am correct, the strongest earthquake was recorded there in the 1800s. That is, stronger than the west coast ones. Anyway, if you ever fly over the farm fields down there, you will notice light spots. These spots were wher a sandy layer of dirt forced its way up through the top layer. People who saw it reported them to be like gysers 100 ft tall.

From time to time, Mother Nature reminds us how insignificant we are on this planet, and that we could be erased in an instant. My favorite natural disaster would have to be a Tsunami though. Here's an aerial photo of a Tsunami crashing into the mainland:

I just got home from work last night and just before making responses in other threads I felt it. It felt like bieng in a car with subs that can hit real hard below audible frequencies and having it let out just one very hard thump. A few things rattled around my place. I checked over the house and looked around outside- I had no idea what the crap it was but it shook me up becasue it had to have been "something".
Forget moving out to the west coast.
