like rummage sale signs, realtors putting open house or model home signs also on the weekends. i live a corner and with the main road closed we get a good amount of traffic our way in the morning and between 3-4pm.

is there anything i can do without getting in trouble? like can i legally take them down and throw them out? they are only about 3-5 feet inside my yard from the road. most people come ask first but as of late nobody has asked. i usually don't mind if they ask and i have said no before to some political signs..

any thoughts on this my fellow BCMer's?

if they don't ask first they have thrown litter on your property...its your duty to see it cleaned up properly and disposed of :D

Are you sure that first 3-5 feet isn't city owned? Most places it is.

Technically... my property doesnt start until the other side of the drainage 'ditch' in the front yard. I just have to take care of it and make it look nice...lol.

Probably not...lol. Maybe just a lot of complaining.:goof

Just keep taking them down. They'll get the point.

I just take them down and throw them away when you mow the lawn. Some are nicer signs and have some good steel or aluminum in them for projects.

You beat me to it. I was going to suggest that very same thing, light them up right where they stand and sit next to it in the lawn chair with a bottle of beer and a bucket of water.

I don't think a 15 ft easement means it's not your property. After all you are responsible for maintaining it, aren't you? The easement just means the city can use it if it needs to and you can't say squat. I agree with the point of view that this is liter on your law and you can do with it as you see fit.
