Alright, went to mow the lawn today, and well the rider was acting up. It would start, smoke like a mofo then shut off. I checked the oil and voila found my problem. The crank case was FULL of gas/oil mixed.

I'm thinking I need a new carb, or to rebuild the one I have. Anyone know where to either get a rebuilt carb or a carb kit for a 12hp Briggs?

Or be cheap and put an inline fuel shutoff on there and shut off the fuel after you use it each time!

I was thinking the same thing... Then on the other hand I realized I'd forget once in a while and waste a tank of gas and have to change the oil... :rolf :rolf

Ok model 28 with a walbro lmt "world class" carb. We use those for cutaways so I'll see if I got anything useful to donate tommorrow, only thing that may be diff is the choke shaft , no biggie to swap from old.

Deep Creep it first. Sounds like the float is stuck.

Got one here at my desk Joe, the throttle shaft and choke shaft will have to carry over but thats easy to swap, ill give you some instruction on that. $20 says the tip on the needle, which is Viton rubber has a groove worn in it, which negates the taper built in for an interferance fit which seals it. Simply cleaning it will not fix it. Yes this carb can be rebuilt with just a new needle and seat which are a touch tricky to r&r effectively as mentioned above. So if you want to learn, i can help there too but this part #231854 is the needle and seat kit you would need. The 281169 is not for this app since you have a '94 model year date code and that part # is used for 92 or older and its ref # 106 on this diagram:
