My boss is looking for a good running 60-80hp outboard for his deckboat.He said he would prefer something older and on the cheaper side.Preffered to have controls included, unless its an older Johnson.Hes looking to spend around $400 but will pay more for the right engine.

That will maybe get you a running 5 hp, i think hes going to have to spend 800-1000 to get something reliable.

Yea I have been on the search for a good outboard it stupid how much they cost. You can buy a used boat and motor for the price of a motor.

Ya whats stated above.. I found a Merc 70 OB for 250 but it needed work... The work I put into it costed more than what I payed for it.

sorry to hear that, we just picked him up a 1980 75hp Mercury for 400.Has less than 20 hours on it and looks absolutely new...got it for $400 from an old couple :banana1:

must be something in the air, i picked up a 115 johnson with electric trim for $400...divorce sales are awesome :thumbsup

mods please lock this up, my needs have been satisfied :D
