Hey so I have a 1.0 pcm in my l67. From what i have read, most suggest a good tune to get the most from my mods, so I'm considering just getting it tuned. Never having gotten anything tuned before, i have no idea what costs are, can anyone give me a range of what I should expect. Ps mods are cai, 3.4 pulley, 3" dp back, 180 tstat, al104s, and obviously the pcm flash. Maybe headers and or 1.9 rockers soon.

typically 450-550 for something GM and forced induction.

Hey Tom,

I sent you a pm a few weeks ago and never heard back.

Thanks!

that's a good going rate. 400+ for N/A and 500+ for a forced induction setup is what i've seen.

if the person has the ability to tune that is. if they need to purchase the license to do your car, expect to pay a bit more.

WELL worth the cost over a $200-250 mail order tune for SURE

With the mods you have and the addition of rockers and headers, you should be in the 13.2-13.5 range in a regal, with the "crappy" version 1 PCM flash. That is the only PCM I ran and never had any issues with the car running bad. I'd personally leave that PCM and enjoy it. That is alot of coin to shell out for a small addition in performance, IMO

Thanks for all the input guys, I think I am going to take Jeffs advice and just stick with the flashed pcm and call it a day. $500.00 for a little better performance just doesn't seem worth it for a DD.

Jeff, with the addition of rockers and headers is it safe to pulley down to a 3.2?

just do a quick scan during the middle of wisconsin's hot humid summer and you'll know right away.

I'd suggest switching to AL 103's after adding the rockers and headers. Of course a 160 t stat. Let me know once you got everything on, I'll go for a drive with ya!!!

for the summer you could run a drilled 160 degree thermo, i ran that with similar mods, minus rockers and headers, the car ran SO much better with the drilled thermo. it sounds stupid and some don't agree with it, but just putting the 4 holes in it had the car running about 10 or more degrees cooler according to the ol' scanmaster

Well I haven't gotten a scan tool yet, do either of you have recommendations or know anyone looking to sell one?

x2 on it not being worth the cost for a complete tune vs whats in there now.

This is a false sence of it running cooler. When you allow coolant to flow through the systme faster, yes the temp of the coolant its self will drop, but the block/heads temp will go up due to the coolant not staying around long enough to sap as much heat out of the those components as possible. This can really lead to some intresting KR issues due to hot spots! Most likely this results in allowing full timing which would give a seat of the pants increase.
