my gf just bought an 04 gp its got one light burned out behing the display but she doesn't want me buying a new deck for it yet. i'll let you know if i get it out tho

I am no audio/video expert but thought all aftermarket decks need a wiring harness adapter of some sort. You will also need a dash kit for the deck to fit properly.....

i meant a special harness to work with the door chimes, bose, onstar etc. most radios use a wiring harness or can be spliced in but I am trying now to see if it needs the other kind of harness as those tend to run upwards of a $100 for the module alone.

oh hers isnt' a bose i dont think and theres no on star doesnt' sound like it'll work

if it has the bose, then yes, it needs a special harness. if it has steering wheel controls it needs a harness adapter for those to work too.
