Well I took off the fairing and looked at the triple clamps, no cracks I can see. Looks like the fork seals are smoked judging by the oil its leaving on the left tube and a little less on the right. Looks like the forks bottomed out too looking at the dirt line on the forks. Forks themselves "look" ok and I'll throw a straight edge on them when I replace the seals.

So all in all not too bad.

No broken bones.
windshield
forkseals
left mirror.

I don't think it'll be too bad. $100 for the new windscreen, but that can wait. $30 or so for fork seals. Looks like the front fender hit too because the paint is chipping now and it has flex cracks in the paint. A mirror can't be too bad for a used one. As long as the forks are still straight it should be under $200. It still runs good so that's a plus

I agree it's stupid for a "realistic and mature" person to be driving around with no insurance. But if they can't afford insurance, then they probably aren't the best off financially, so a lawsuit would be pointless, haha.

i know what you are getting at though for sure. Can't wait for July, when it will be against the law and these people can actually be punished for no insurance.

Very true. I guess the only way I could see it is if it's their beater very occasional use work truck?

Got everything back together, take it out of the garage...... and no spark:fire:fire:fire:fire:fire:fire
Checked all the connections, I didn't disconnect any wires when I was messing with the frontend. Noticed the voltage dropped under 12 v when cranking, hopefully that's it. Its on the charger now. When I first got it I found out it wouldn't spark even if there was enough voltage to turn it over.

Well it wasn't low battery,:fire
Hopefully somehow a wire got disconnected, otherwise it could get expensive. Look into it more tomorrow.

Wouldn't you know it's the ignitor. The most expensive part it could be. Over $500 new, and is only a 2 year part 83 750 and 85 700 so used isn't easy to find and expensive when you do.:fire:fire:fire:fire

Yeah I only paid like $600 for the bike, although I needed to do some fixing when I got it. There was no way I was spending $500 on one part, I'd rather put that money towards a GSXR motor swap if I was going to spend it:goof
