i've got some wierd out there questions and didnt' know where to put em. One is there a good way to sharpen lawnmower blades by my self with like a dremel or something? i've got a john deer lawn tractor and the blades are pretty dull been putting it off a while. next on the same thing any one know what kind of oil and where i could get a filter for this thing its over due for a oil change and the near by dealer is gone.

Next question. I've been using my row boat the past few days for fishing and the ore's are a little weathered to the point i would think they might break on my and leave me stranded lol. any one know of a good place to get a set or good ores?

I just use a angle grinder to sharpen my mower blades every spring.

I use a bench grinder to sharpen my lawnmower blades. I got my grinder from harbor freight.

Donny, I can sharpen your blades for you at the golf course. We have a blade sharpening machine.

I get my JD filters at lowes or home depot.

As far as sharpening blades go, I use a die grinder with a stone wheel to do a rough cleanup, and then finish with a good hand file.

Dremel actually makes a lawnmower blade sharpening attachment. I bought one years ago and used it once, then went back to the bench grinder, so much easier/faster.

Word! I'd rather grind a mower blade against a cinder block than attempt to use a dremel again. An angle grinder is hands down the best household tool for sharpening a mower blade.
