Really neat way to achieve a CVT without the downsides of the CVT:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F6zE__J0YIU&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F6zE__J0YIU&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Looks like it could be made very compact and able to withstand substantial amounts of power...

... yeah, way too early in the morning for my hungover ass to watch something like that... maybe tonight when I can comprehend things better

Does it require three motors to make it work?

Seems like a cool idea but I think it will all come down to the amount of power you have to put into those 2 additional inputs to spin the shafts.

Also, with the the way those things spin it looks like it could get nasty vibrations once its built with heavier parts and spinning much faster.
