Carpet Stretching

Is there any BCM people who do carpeting or anyone else on here who has done it? I cleaned my living room carpet and it was slightly loose. Well after cleaning it is looser in one area. I checked with Home Depot to rent the tools and it would be like $30 but was wondering if anyone on here does it and could do better that I could do, or give any tips from their experience. I've seen some videos and watched someone do it before but it is always different when your doing it yourself.

My friend once tore out all the plaster in a room and the original carpeting ended up an inch short on two sides once the drywall replaced it. So we ghetto stretched it with only a knee kicker. Put a double nail strip in all the way around the room, then the girls sat on one side of the room my friend stood on the knee kicker, and I sat on my ass and kicked it as hard as i could. Once it streched enough he nailed it into the strips. We got that carpet stretched so tight you'd think it was pro. We returned the knee kicker the next day and i swear all the teeth were facing the wrong way :rolf
