From what I heard from ppl at the track is he lost it at the big end (7.90@180) bounced off the wall both sides of the track. He was unconcious for some time. When he came to the first thing he asked was if he won the race! (Only mark) I guess the car is a total loss as he had to cut from it.

Get well soon mark!

Yeap as Dennis said he is fine, he can give the details.

Mark and Paul stayed in town at a hotel last night were going to pick up the car today if they let him take it yet. We left his trailer at the track for that reason. We took his 4 wheeler in the back of my truck so it didn't have to leave at the track where it might come up missing.

So glad your OK Mark.

I can't imagine loosing a car with all that time invested. It's something I pray never happens to me because it would seriously crush my spirit towards the sport/hobby and I haven't done much in comparison to you. If anything, you do gain a lot of experience and knowledge you wouldn't of otherwise had. Insurance will get you back in the game, but I'm sure we all know that pays for so much. There's a lot of personal time into cars like yours that never equates to a dollar amount from insurance companies. Though, I'm sure everyone would agree, the road the 2nd time around is a lot shorter than the first and does afford the opportunity to try something new again.

Take care and get well soon. I hope to see a SMOKDU2

What better way to start over again but with a similar one. I will say this, the price is right considering you had insurance on the other. Save what you can if anyhting from the wrecked one and get crackin on this one.

I would just stay a spectator for a little bit and get my health back. Dude you hit a wall at 180. That is faster than what killed Dale Earnhardt a few years back. Not to mention the G forces you put your body through. You could have been easily killed. You might still have issues you don't know about yet.

Hats off to your cage builder. That was some top notch work.

So take the year off, do some fishing. Pocket the cash and build a car when your ready.

It costs roughly a 1/3 to buy something already done then it does to build new. Plus right now with the economy the way it is people are bailing on some very nice stuff for cheap.

yea i figured that it would take less time and money to just buy the car done then to build from scratch again. guess you could always tweak it the way you want really.

Still light headed today. im thinking i'm done. i looked at the helmet last night and i cracked it. i need some time off to think about this. thx for all the suppport and for not bashing. that means alot. im making a video of my car as a tribute to it (tears in my eyes). i will get it done and i will put my 7.9 pass on it and the crash video on it. i have them both on my camera. my daughter might help me put it together. its sad for sure to lose this car. it was around for a long time and it went thru many battles. i just need some time.

Mark, no matter what you decide, you should be proud of what you accomplished with that car. You went 7's in a vert, and not many people can say that. For that matter, not many people have the guts to do that. No one can take that away from you.

Loved that car, never got to get to close to it. Sorry for the loss of your car, but glad you are okay.

Can't wait to see the tribute video.

I couldn't agree more with Greg. My neighbor was in a roll over accident last March at 35mph and died August 8, 2009 from a torn aiorta (sp) that was a result of the accident. Dr. said a check up would have found it. Do yourself, family and friends a favor and get looked at several times over the next year.

Maybe get a car soon but stay off the track for some time. Either way glad you are ok.

Glad you are ok as well. I personally liked your car when it was a 9 sec STREET car. You should build a vert again for track and street and enjoy it more at mach 3 instead of mach 8!

Hey Mark -- I sent ya an email...

Good to hear you're feeling a little better! It's amazing that you walked away from it... (Well at least out of the hospital that is!)

You'll figure out what to do about a new toy sooner or later... :rolf
