Long time no chat!!!! Im pissed it gave out now i am wondering if any one knows a good place to fix it?Or a good salvage yard who would carry one!Remember its a VATS style.
So i am screwed till then the top section of the coulm spins free and i can rotate the old one 360....

Which part exactly is it? The outer shell or is the shaft broke? I might have some parts laying around?

I would suggest Al's if you haven't already....large selection of f-bodies among other cars, although not exactly GTA's and IROC's ;) and much picked over they constantly get cars in and some good parts are out there, surely a few column candidates....also fair prices too.

Got one in my garage. Whats VATS style? Any way this one is out of a 84ish T/A manual trans.

VATS is vehicle-anti-theft-system, where GM started putting that little chip in the key...

I believe it started in 89', some 88's might have it though...or it started in 88'. At least for f-bodies, I remember when learning about TPI stuff...
