Making a kid's wish come true with a Barrett M99

My son Braden has some learning disabilities. He was told at the beginning of the school year that if he really sat down and worked through everything to the best of his ability that we would get him what he wanted...within reason of course. Well he had a great year and when we asked him what he wished for he said a sniper rifle. Yes, he is going to be my military man.

Well BUYING a sniper rifle wasn't within reason but FIRING one certainly was. A quick PM to Fivonut (Devin) here on BCM and he gladly lent his time, gun and ammo to help us out.

But not only the Barrett he also brought his Desert Eagle, M&P15, AR22 and Walther P22 to compliment our two guns. To say Braden, Josh and Devon's son Isaac had a ball would be an understatement.

So to Devin and Isaac, thanks for everything, it really meant alot to Braden and of course to the rest of us.

I thought about opening it up but I am lucky I didn't. they had a bowling pin shoot going on in one of the little enclaves off the main range. It was 1pm before we got on the long range to pull the big dogs out. Until then we only had a small area. Would have just been a clusterf*ck.

And yes, Devin REALLY knows his shit. Drove all the way down here from around Appleton to boot.

As far as shoulders, nobody really complained after the M99, but after 30 rounds through the M&P15 the kids complained.

Scott - No need to apologize, the "I" "O" switcharoo happens all the time. I hardly pay attention to it any more. It was my pleasure to grant Braden's wish. Isaac and I had a great time with you guys yesterday. I'm just glad the bowling pin guys finished up when they did!!

Coop, Brian - I tried, I really did. But alas it was too wet to get a good fire going. I did find a nice chunk of concrete wall I wanted to turn into powder. I even dragged it in front of the targets but one of the range guys thought it might cause a bit of stir, so I left it alone.

It was a great day!! I'm glad Braden had fun!!
