I knwo alot of you dont care - but for those who do this is what my guy Chad and I have been working on. It's chads car - he asked me to show him how to put it on air and thats what I have been doing. Its comming along very nicely - and will be debuting July 14th i think at the Solid Gold Car show.

Here are some pics - hopefully we will be re-assembling the front end as early as tomorrow.

The wheels are not limited - they are 20 " but I forget the actual brand. I just know they aren't limited because that is what I thought they were when he ordered them but he pointed out that I was mistaken. They carry a very wierd name to them. More pics tomorroe - hopefully the airlines will be run and it will be on the ground.

Oh yah - those bumpers were a ***** to line up. The rear bumper we played with for almost 3 hours and I had to leave for work so chad spent another 2 on it after I had left. Yee haw.

Ah yes, and by on the ground I mean the front - we haven't started the rear yet. Took 3 days to decide what size tank we were gonna bolt into the trunk.

All I have to say is wow. I stopped by his house yesterday and check out the caddy. Man is it looking sweet. I cant belive that the 20's fit under the wheel wells with out any rubbing. Car is looking pretty sweet.

For everyones information it will be making its first show appearance July 14 at solid gold.

Eric I dont think I will be doing any bags to my truck till I have the money for it.

Hey John (2kss-4027) You know that green Caddy on Lincoln and National that you were thinking about buying. That is the same car.

I dropped off Chads compressor today - UPS finally delivered it. Chome says bling!

Chad got the front all ready to go - but the cups that came in the kit are bad so we are awaying new ones before we start. Front valves are mounted up so all thats left is plumbing it out and running wires. And the rear, but yah...

pOrk

Got ALOT done today - been having alot of trips to the hosiptal to visit my grandfather lately and between work, the car club, and othe rprojects we haven't had much time to git er done.

Chad has been busy working on his fiberglass sub boxes in the trunk and I inspencted um today, looks as if they are ready for a few coats of primer filler :wooo He got those done in maybe 4 or 5 days? You will see the craftsman ship when I get another chance to post photos. Anyways - he got his 6X9's mounted up ( 4 of um ) and we go the front valves mounted and wired. Dan from Ultimate Truck stopped by and wired up the front valves after I explained to him how to do it almost 10 times. What a putz

Anyways, today I welde don the bottom back brackets onto the axle and plumbed up the bags and cups and got everything put together underneath. Chad took the time to widen the bag cups a bit since they sent the wrong ones AGAIN from MIC. Whatever - problems solved. All we gotta do underneath now is hook up the 2 bags to the t-fitting and run the air lines from teh front bags and rear bags up into the trunk.

In the trunk - Chad got his boards cut and we began mounting the smaller air tank inside the trunk, both compressors got mounted, and I plumpbed up the small tank and the large tank today. Only things left now are wiring up the switches inside the car, wiring the rear valves, running teh power cables for the compressors ane the amp for the subs, and then painting everything that is going to be viewable such as teh sub enclosures, and ofcourse covering all the wood panels with some pleather :thumbsup So yah - this project is headed to completion, and it appears we will indeed be making our delivery date of July 14th to Solid Gold McDonalds. Hopefully you guys can make it to come check it out :rockwoot:

More progress, more photos

We got almost ALL the wiring done yesterday, and the tanks adn compressors are finally mounted up. Alot of work still needs to go into the stereo - but it looks like it will be off the rollers today. Here's some eye candy

http://www.oznium.com/gallery/photos/full/4087/pork-chevrolet-impala
Fiberglass gauge / switch panal that slided into the bottom of the dash - used to be the ash tray. Painted to match the dash, ofcourse!

Rear solenoids wired and mounted

Rear bag, hiding

http://www.oznium.com/gallery/photos/full/4090/pork-chevrolet-impala
Here she is all laid out the bump stops in the front have been removed but we are waiting to take them out in the rear so we cn still get under the vehicle if there are any problems when we take it out to test it. It will probably drop another 2-3 inches with removal of teh bumpstops, and possibly might have to notch above the pumpkin. Who knows though.

http://www.oznium.com/gallery/photos/full/4091/pork-chevrolet-impala
Here is the tank all mocked up for fit and mounted. Wiring starts goin in...

http://www.oznium.com/gallery/photos/full/4094/pork-chevrolet-impala
From the front, all wired and mounted. Few wires still need to be hidden and cleaned up - but all this will be covered by the amp rack and some embroideriy before next week anyhoot.

http://www.oznium.com/gallery/photos/full/4093/pork-chevrolet-impala
One of these bad boys goes on each side of the trunk, as the back will have a flat board covered in vinyl and have a few accessories mounted to it, such as one of the amps :banana

http://www.oznium.com/gallery/photos/full/4092/pork-chevrolet-impala

Did you have to build a four link?

would it make it to BK in Muskego? :thumbsup
I'm sure it would - we drove it into New Berlin and dropped it off at the PinStripers house last night. Pickin it up today - we still gotta re-install the back seat and get the stereo into the trunk. Time crunching ahhhh!!

Did you have to build a four link?
I thought we were going to have to build one - but teh rear suspension on the caddi consists of an axle and what looks to be a 3 link already. The bars comming from teh front perches are plenty strong enough and allow everything to clear as it it. One problem we are encountering is major drive shaft alignment differences, but it doesn't seem to mess with the rear diff as much as I had thought. We have yet to take it onto the freeway.

pOrk
07-13-2004, 11:54 AM
I dont know if I posted - but the rear wheels were wobbeling back adn fourth pretty bad when we took it out on sunday. Turns out that there is a botl that holds the rear hubs onto the actual brake assembly. We removed the bolt on each side and are now depending on the lugnuts to hold teh entire wheel and brake assembly together, which works fine. But when we take the wheels off, jsut gotta watch that the drum dont fall apart :rolf I am gonna try and find some alan head bolts that will screw in and mount somewhat flush, or possibly weld some washers around the hub cause I dont feel comfortable leaving that bolt out.

Holla: This mofo will be debuting tomorrow at Solid Gold - project started back in march, now damn near complete. Final touch will be a full tank of gas and a set of drag blocks in the very near future

Chad and I decided we will be doing air-ride installs on locals vehicles, another thing that will be done at his garage, Crash! Customs. And on to the pics

http://www.oznium.com/gallery/photos/full/4149/pork-chevrolet-impala
Sorry Chad - I had to post it :-P This is Crash in his finest, standing proud next to his 68. The car turned out excellent, and is now for sale for all those interested
