It's subjective...I tend to think the "off-the-beaten-path" cars tend to be on the higher end of what *I* consider cool...that said:

TheRX7project's Belvedere.

Hands down....and while I jest a little, I don't by that much, lol. I really like that belvy....and consider my turbo dodge fetish here....my taste in cars skews slightly different than most.

But cars that qualify to me would be:

Dr. Buick's GN- Okay, so GN's aren't the most common, but in these circles, they aren't terribly rare. BUT, his isn't just a turbo buick 6 (like the "just" part?)...it's a freekin' Nascar V8, that by itself makes stupid power, add to it the hair dryer that displaces more air volume per 1/4 mile than my daily driver does in an entire 45 mile commute to and from work, it's hard to say that there is anything like this out on the road...ever or for some time.

Sam's Nova-Besides looking pretty cool, and a not-so-sleeper car trying to look sleeperish, it's the history of the car that makes it cool. Sam litterally drives around a car that rednecks every where waited by their mailbox breathlessly so they could see what the next months mods brought in terms of improvement/performance...and yes, I included myself in that bunch of rednecks.

Jim's Viper- I know when I tell my non-car-loving-buddies about this car, they just don't believe me. "Yeeeah....1,500 hp? Riiiiiight."

Rick's SRT-4. Why this one? Well, I've known rick perhaps longest on the board...I helped him out when he was just getting out of HS to get his then modded 15 second valiant down to low 13's w/o a gear change and just three well thought out mods (heads, cam, and shorty headers)...though I can take NO credit for what his SRT does today, it's been neat to watch from where he was taking it to where he is currently. Good job rick.

That's only a partial list. There are a TON of cars that would be on this list and then to decide which is the "coolest" of that list? Impossible...I know I'd never come to a conclusion.

For me it is really hard to pick just five let alone one.

but in no real order here are a few that come into mind.

SloLs1 - V8 rwd saturn - that is pretty cool and fast from what i remember, but i think that car is no more?

The next 2 i might catch a bit of flack for but.

Lizmo - yes i know she is my g/f but knowing what has gone into the car and knowing how few of those swaps have really been done and to what level her car has gotten to over the last 2-3 years really makes me proud of what she has done.

Turtle - His Neon, seriously, yeah it's JUST a neon. but for what that thing is it's awesome.
Boss LX - So clean and fast. plus it sees a good share of street miles.

FoureyedFord - same reason as above. 8 second turbo street car is AWESOME

MoparJim's Viper - 1500ish whp. 8 second potention full out car.

Whatsadsm - Murray's 240sx such a versitile car, you could go road racing and do VERY well out there and then you could switch out wheels and tires and go drag racing and do just as well.

Todd Zs ZO6 is best road course car.

J'S Biscuit is one car I just drool over.

J Rink Has an AMZINGLY clean Import, thats fast as hell.

The SBC has served its purpose. Has run pretty darn good and surprised me a bit with the 4-speed in it now. Feels pretty peppy. But I agree, the 409 is a must. I'm doing my best to keep that project moving but I can tell you, building one of these old boat anchors is NOT cheap. My hope is that the fun factor of the motor will far out way the investment :thumbsup

I'm gonna vote for Tom's Turbo Camaro SS. Didn't see it through all of the transformation it had, but to have to ease into the throttle at 75 to not rip the tires loose is awesome.

I like Brad's neon....but honestly...Mopar Jim's Viper is my vote. Saw that thing in person at Greg's SRT-4 meet last year.....sick. Not to mention I saw it actually driven in the rain...lol. I like nismodave's car as well....I remember riding in it after a turbo dodge meet or something...it was sweet then and from what I've seen...its gotten better :) I'd vote for my cars but thats not really fair.

It is way too difficult to name only one vehicle, as I am not partial to any one brand/make in particular.

Here are several that I respect and appreciate for numerous reasons that I will go into detail later on.

Mopar Jim's Stable -- all of them I have seen in the last decade have been awesome!
Dr. Ford's T-Bird -- pure insanity at its best!
Ron's COW -- nothing like it....nuff said!
Jesse's (JRink) Stealth RT/TT -- Truly an amazing road race car that can win car shows, and drive on the street with ~700AWHP. One of the cleanest examples of a 3SI I have ever seen!
Dr. Jack's X-Wing -- This car is what got me into DSM's and 3SI's. One of the fastest 3000GT's in the world.
Sam and Tina's Stable -- I personally like the turbo notch-back myself, but they are all super-cool!
Bobby's Mustang -- Holy freaking nuts.....
Murray's 240 -- Killer RB power with a 6262 in a road-race/drag/street car combination!
Ricky's SRT4 -- One of the fastest neon's in the country, all with a fairly mild setup! Lots of potential in this car!
Dennis' TA (95TA-The Beast) -- Truly an awesome car in person!
Jason Tanin's Lil Evo 2 -- One of the coolest Mitsubishi's -- 4G63AWD Mirage!


These are just a few, as I have respect for numerous other cars mentioned and unmentioned.
