So how many of us play the lottery? Scratch offs?

most ive ever won was 60 bucks on a 5 dollar scratch off...
Won 50 bucks a few times as well...

my old neighbot won 42k on badger 5...that was pretty cool!

i havent played in awhile but al these stories of avg joes (and younger people at that) winning has me wanting to test my luck again!

person just won 266million from mega millions...they can take 26 equal payments of 10.2 or lump sum of 165million before fed taxes!!

id take the lump sum!!!! i heard if you take the payments and you die that the money wont get paid to you family? any truth to that?

I buy one powerball ticket when I can, never more than once a drawing.

And though my odds of winning are virtually nill, that 1 buck I spent gives me permission to daydream what I'd do if I won....would I still work? how would I invest/spend? Who would be gifted what? How many dogs? Where would I build a house? How big a workshop would I get? How would I manage my cars? what would I buy first...

just dumb stuff like that. At least by spending the dollar, it's at least a fraction more realistic to daydream the stuff, so it's good cheap entertainment.

I buy a powerball ticket and mega millions ticket every now and then. Prince Valiant makes a good point. It's basically purchasing the ability to day dream somewhat more realistically.

$1 quick pick for Powerball and Supercash, twice a week. Haven't won shit!! BUT, I live by the "someone's gotta win" mantra. A co-worker of mine won $4million in the Megabucks lottery a few years back, he's still working with us.

We play here at work when it gets up there. It's just fun. We all put in like a buck and there's like 5 of us.

Every so often I will play lottery. Usually I just play the slots at the bar. My best night I stuck in a $20, hit it for $750. Put in another $20 and won another $275. Then every so often I will win $250 here or $100 there or $50...just depends on when I feel like cashing out.

My sales team and I hit something like 4 or 5 Powerball #'s once for $100. We decided to let it ride and buy 100 more tickets... the next drawing, we didn't win a single dollar.

My good buddy won $11M on Megabucks a few years ago on xmas day. Well not that good of buddy I guess... my ass is still working like crazy, LOL...

My wife won $200,000 on Powerball late last year, but it was in a pool at work so it was split 17 ways. Her share ended up being $11,500 before taxes, and about $8,000 after taxes. Still not too shabby.

I probably blow $200 a year on Powerball. I don't smoke, drink less than a case a year, so gotta have a "vice". Never give money to the Indians either, but I never win. I think I won $7 total since 1999.
