Painting Alum grill mesh

Anyone have luck painting aluminum mesh and not get rock chips? If so what type of paint did you use?

I would think powder coating would be the only real way? Or at least the best option?

trim black is the way to go if you are painting, but anything you paint will need to be touched up depending how much you drive.

I did mine with prime and paint, two coats each. Seems to be holding up.

I have tried a couple different kinds of paint and no luck so far. Calling tomorrow to get a price on anodizing.
