Does anyone have any leads to any good vets? And by good I mean they actually care about the health of your pet and not just how bad they get to skull-fuck you every time you walk in the door.

I'm sorry but taking a dog in for their rabies shot, and nothing else, should not cost $100. The shot itself is like $20 but then they charge you a $45 exam fee... really... even I can tell that the dog has a heatrbeat so save the 2 seconds of effort you used to verify that and let me keep my $... $10 disposal fee for the needle... nonsense.

So.. what kind of recommendations have you got in the metro-Milwaukee area?

Cudahy vet on packard isn't bad, my parents have been going there since the 70's. I go there or layton ave animal hospital. My parents also have a guy that comes to their house to give the shots and the price is very good.

I HIGHLY recommend Elmbrook Vet in Brookfield. If you are looking for a place that sincerely cares about you pet, this is the place. Located off of Bluemond just east of hwy 18.

Their phone number is 262-786-8460

This is a good thread. I paid something like $37 for "Doggie safe benadryl" for my pup to help with her ear infections. It's JUST *$(@*ing benadryl! It's no different!

Oddly enough, it was another vet that told me "yeah, you should just buy that at Target"

Can you get me this guy's info, Rick?

This sounds perfect. Esp when there's no need to go into the office. They just need their rabies shot for cryin out loud.

New Berlin Animal Hospital. My parents have been going there for over 15 years and I take my dog there now. Dr. Lisa Peterson is good.

Now this is what I'm talkin about!! :thumbsup

Don't get me wrong. I have NO problem patronizing a good vet when the animals need extra care. But I can't see shelling out $100 for a damn rabies shot and multiply that by 3 dogs and you can see where the frustration can mount.

My wife cats go to a Vet in Waukesha. Doctor Sengraf I believe is her name. Very good vet. She told us to go to petco for the shots to save money.

My dog got stung by a bunch of bees and our vet said just give her some benadryl!

Burleigh Road animal hospital.

They are excellent. When the WAPCE and myself went on our honeymoon 2 months ago we had Eva boarded for about a week. I wouldn't hesitate to leave her with them again. If you do go there ask for Julia, tell her that you know me.
