`01 Escort ZX2 with 209k miles, currently at 229k miles. I am AMAZED how little oil the engine uses, less than 1 quart in the last 15,000 miles. The original factory drive train will easily see 300k miles.....

97 Ranger 4x4 172k on the body, way less on the engine, paid 2000 for it. Some might say that that was a lot, however the truck was/is extremely clean, minimal rust, engine had under 100k on it, and the clutch was newer.............

Girlfriends 91 Jeep Cherokee 285000 on it and that damn thing still keeps kicking........

The carfax report said my 93 240sx had 250K+. I think there was a mistake though. There was a reading that showed 60,000 miles put on in one year.

That is very possible though, I have been averaging 25,000 miles on the mustang since I got it, sad thing is that the car has sat for about 9 months total in the 2 years that i have had it, from being in storage and not being able to drive it for three months because of illness

My wife and I put 30,000k a year on our Camry (216k right now. Bout it with 60k) each year and that is a LOT of driving. I can't imagine 60k.

The reasons I don't think it had that many miles is 1) the speedo said 100,000 less then the Carfax, and 2) the car was in waaaay too good of shape to have that many miles. I've seen 240's with that many miles on them and they never, ever look like that. The KA was original as well and it still pulled really well. I just had a gut feeling the readings were wrong.

I didn't pay for mine. My truck was issued to me by my job. 250000 miles on a 03 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 engine. So far according to my paperwork I am still on factory drivetrain. It burns 1/2 a quart every 3000 miles. These are hard miles, towing and outside line work. Since I had it I have put 15000 in 6 weeks. Mostly highway. Gas mileage sucks, only 10 MPG.

I didnt get a new truck like I thought I would. I am fine with the Dakota, I am the only one that can fit in parking structures. And Chicago trips aren't that big a deal.

Its has changed my mind about Dodges.

Just sold it with 212,xxx. The kid who bought it is still driving the hell out of it.

If the wife didnt make me get rid of it (apparently she thought it was a safty hazard) I would still have it. But now I get to drive her Tracker around town.

I've bought a ton of high mile vehicles - used to buy a lot of ex squads and such. Recently, I bought a 290,000 mile 1992 Jeep Cherokee, that ran and drove great and I ran it up to like 312,000 and only got rid of it due to Cash for Clunkers...

As long as they are maintained right, most cars can last a long long time. Its only when they start piling up past due repairs that they start to fall apart and drive like crap.

Sorry to mislead. I loved that Park Ave. Only reason I ended up selling it was that a ton of things were breaking from previous owners lack of use. It was nickel and diming me to death. What I was saying was pathetic was the fact the highest mile car I have ever owned only had 43,000 miles on it. At least as far as my standings in this thread anyways :rolf

Ahh, gotcha :D . If cars sit, alot of things can creep up especially if they are older too. Mine sat for about a year or so before I bought it due to my friends DUI situation(s) but has been over 50k of pretty reliable use. Would be cool to take it to 200k, not sure on that though.

Yeah, The dealer told me the elderly man that owned my car before me, rarely drove it. The only thing that ever saw the passenger seat was his oxygen tank. :rolf. All of the doors with the exception of the drivers door actually had the latches freeze up and the dealer actually had to try and pull door panels with the doors frozen shut.
