In this cold at night weather how long should it take for grass seed to start to germinate? Had a huge area planted on 4/12 and no signs of anything yet. Water everyday except last weekend and put starter fertilizer on it.

We have a few big areas that we planted with grass seed. Each area has about 50% germinated. I read that it's better to do a good soaking every few days versus watering every day. I've heard the other way too (water daily), so who knows what works best.

The directions on the grass seed bags read 7-10 days with average 70* temperatures.

my first batch germinated within 8 days but the temps were warmer, the last batch I layed down has taken over 2 weeks and I finally saw some grass sprouting.

I seeded exactly 2 weeks ago, and it just started to show signs of life on Thursday. Keep it moist, not soaking wet and wait it out...it'll grow.
