And yeah the sky is photoshopped. No other choice when the weather won't cooperate ALL weekend. It cracked me up though waking up today and the sky basically looks like the photo's. :durr

From what I've gathered, they're selling to build. The house is just plain awesome from personal experience, many times over. I was there when they first bought it, and there about a week ago (and many times between).. They've done so much to that place it's incredible.

Best of luck with selling it Mel!

Pretty much this^. We want to build in a few years. I also took a job in West Bend and start in a couple weeks. If things turn out well there (which I'm expecting they will) we'd like to live a little closer.

We designed and remodeled the entire house ourselves, inside out. Every
tile, piece of drywall, wall of paint, etc etc has all been done by my wife and I. We've been working on this house since the day we closed. Actually the day after I started tearing out the wall between the living room and kitchen and we haven't stopped since. We've painted every room in the house at least twice. Some 3-4 times. My last estimate was that we've went rhough almost 80 gallons of paint (exterior included) since we moved in. Yes, my wife and I are a little anal when it comes to that stuff.

Here are some pictures of the house the way we bought it. You have to see these to reeeaaaallly appreciate all the work we've done. Sorry kinda big pics.

I did. I designed it myself. I did TONS of research online and found like 3-4 plans and how-to's. Obviously none of them were exactly what I was looking for so I kind of combined them all and tweeked it for my space. If you have any specific questions send me a PM and I can probably answer'em. That only took us a day to do. It's rock solid. As solid as any deck. In fact basically the only difference between this and a deck is the 2x2's on the top instead of deck boards.

Good call, I've seen a lot of people who remodeled without permits run into problems when it was selling time.

holy cow!! that turned out hella nice! one thing i notice that u seemed to do weather u tried or not and is a pet peve of mine is it looks like you tried to keep the same color wood in each room. I hate when there is light wood table dark cabnets redish hutch and so on. I gota have everything match :thumbsup

Exitspeed
04-29-2010, 04:10 PM
Yes, same color wood throughout is intentional. In fact our bedroom set used to be a medium oak color. Just recently we stripped and sanded the entire set and refinished it to match everything else. THAT was as much freakin work as some of the remodeling.

The garage isn't done as nice like the rest of the house unfortunately. It wasn't quit as important as the main part of the house. If we were planning on staying there for the next 30 years I would have definitely gotten around to it.

The house was nasty when we bought it. I totally agree. Luckily my wife and I are able to look at a house like that as a clean slate and can see it's potential. The house was on the market for a long time before we bought it.
