Had some great sounding exhaust too. I heard one of the GTR's was shooting flames.

The Number 44 GTR Says...it has a full catless exhaust, so Godzilla can shoot his flame weapon properly...hehe
thanks, it was a great time!

so supposedly the guy with the crashed TA is doing a insurance claim...

crap like that REALLY pisses me off. No wonder why my premiums are so high, cause of flippin frauds!

Some companies cover events like this as long as they are considered a driving course, and not a timed event. So depnding on his company it is not fraud.

so you would be ok with eating the repair costs without even trying? shit, track or not, I would try it too. its his premiums that would go up. I would think uninsured motorists and intentional accidents cause more rate hikes than something like this.

Which I agree. But you and I know damn well this schmuck is not going to claim it as that. Hes going to haul it somewhere and say he crashed it there. I have PLENTY of pictures stating otherwise. ( him coming into the turn hot, him hitting the wall, him standing next to the crashed car in a helmet, also his car on a flatbed driving down the track :rolf

as for yoo, his premium will go up yes. but in the long run, all premiums go up for more accidents. Legit accidents vs fraud...hmmm

as for the other thing...If I crashed my car during a tracked event, I wouldn't be a jag and claim in under insurance for my lack of ability to keep my car under control.... this is my personal feeling

What if your tire blew out, what if someone cut you out, what if you hit debris on the track another car left behind,is it then ok to claim?
I mean really if insurance covers him and he pays his premiums where is the fraud. if it was a race event and he crashed and ins. doesnt cover him then thats fraud.
is this not what insurance is for?

Maybe I'm irked by it cause I know this situation doesn't fit any of those scenarios that you posted

I was right by the concrete barrier taking pics, when I saw this jag coming in WAYYYY to hot, holding the brake, locked them and bam...

If it was a true accident....tire blew out, someones go-cam flew off the car infront of him, went through his windshield making him crash etc.... maybe it wouldn't rub me the wrong way.

But since that didn't happen, I can't tell you how I would feel.

But the question remains if he has insurance that covers him for a driveing event no matter how he drove it on the track, shouldnt he be able to use it? and why would it be fraud?

Accidents happen. At least it was on a track. The best drivers in the world wreck their cars. I don't think he's a jag for that?

I pay for insurance in case something happened to my car. I've paid thousands and thousands of dollars for insurance that I never once have used. I promise that I've I sent the Cobra into a wall at Road America - I'm going to do everything I can to try to get my insurance company to cover it.

I don't know what I'd say it happened on a road somewhere, but it's not fair to assume that guy is doing the same.

Nice pictures, Dave!

Mainly for when you go off and get stuck in the kitty litter. Makes for a safe point for the safety crew to quickly extract you. Otherwise they go for wherever is easiest. I saw a T/A get a bent wheel at RA a long time ago.
