Spent a few hours cleaning the boys car up and boy did it make a difference. He could drive this thing as is, but doesn't like the color so much. Cleaned up the engine bay, removed a bunch of stickers from the windows and gave her a good wash/wax job. There seems to have been a patch panel put in on the driver's side rear quarter ( you'll see in the pics below ), but it seems to have been done very well. The interior is spotless with seats in great condition. The car runs and drives extremely well, brakes in good condition and new tires as well. The only issue is a suspension sound in the front that I will dig into one of these days. The last photo is of the Tbird rims that were included and will be cleaned up and put on the car. I think we got a real good deal as I paid $675 for this thing.

I don't have the greatest lens for car pics, but here are a few:

not a bad find. I would say sell both sets of rims and find a nice set of cobra r's or other mustang rim for it...but that is my own opinion

Cobra R's are gayer than a bag full of dicks. And the bolt pattern is different. Anywho...

Killer car for the kid, Wayne! Personally, I like the purple and would keep it. Those stock wheel will make the car look a lot better!

I could always take the cobra r's off of my cobra and see if they fit. lol

I actually don't mind the purple as much as I thought I would, but the car will need some body work and a repaint anyway. It's the boys decision on the color, so we'll see.

They are cobra rims on cars that have been converted to a mustang bolt pattern. :shades

110k miles, new tires, solid exhaust, good brakes etc.....

The drivers side rocker is pretty shitty, but the frame is solid as hell.

Cobra rims are cool. All the cool kids have them. And then I have them too.

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q142/bread320i/Red%20SHO/round2004.jpg

Same bolt pattern as Thunderbirds (and Volvos and many others). 5x108 IIRC.

Great choice for a father/son project!

X's 10! And at a great price!!:wooo My first car was a 1990 chevy lumina that I paid $900 for from my SISTER!! lol. I would have killed for a car like this for my first one.
And the father/son project......outstanding. I wish every father would do this with their sons. I did it backwards where it was my dads car and I did the work, now looking back, I wish I would've had him help more just to spend the time with him.

Congrats! Enjoy it and cherish the moments spent on it.:headbang:headbang

Hell to the YEAH!!! Awesome car and great deal!

Keep the purple. It'll be hard as hell to paint the car black and have it look good if that bodywork isn't perfect. AND THEN on top of that, he'll have to keep the car clean as hell to keep from scratching it and keep it looking good.

I kinda like those cobra's. Not to hijack, but michelle's SHO looks awesome with them IMHO. Haven't ever seen that combo before but think it makes the car look 100x's better.

moels
04-20-2010, 07:26 PM
I did tell him that yesterday about the bodywork having to be flawless on a black paintjob. He also picked a darker red color he thought looked cool. We'll see what we come up with when the time comes.

House of Color Paint, like a candy red would look very nice on that car. I love the Super Coupes in a bright red look bad ass! That front bumper cover almost looks like a SC front, can't be to many v8 t-birds running around I remember them being rare when brand new.

Here is a before pic that you can see how bad the rocker panel was and the hole right above the rocker in front of the rear wheel.
