Ok first of all thanks Dave for dragging me outta the house after a 2am night at the Pot. and Truckstop.
My Road America trip started with bothering Nan and a few others. I saw alot of old faces and met some new ones today whisch is always awesome.
Dave took me over by Todd Zimmers clan, for Corvette guy's they were alot of fun (J/K lol)
Next thing I know I'm introduced to a gentleman by the name of Greg Miller (sp?) who happened to be my wife's boss years ago and knows my sister in-law's mom very well.
Dave and Todd were able to convince him to give me a ride in his Corvette.
While typing I still have a chubby.
The first ride ended just as we were getting to really hotlap tires getting heat in them then poof, the brakes go out. Funny thing is he informed me but in such a calm way I was never even worried. We slowed and back to the pits.
The brakes were repaired and Greg asked if I was willing to go for a real ride this time, being that I still had a chubber from the previous slow (to him) run,I said hell Yeah!
Now in the meantime Dave and Todd talked me into doing the touring portion,I wasn't sure what to expect. For a first timer it was great,I was able to drop back and get Todd Z in front of me along with Dave in the car one talked me threw the course while I watched the other in front of me drive the lines.
Before I knew it we had caught the rest of the pack each time getting a litte faster. I was so jacked up on Mountain Dew when we came off the track i thought I might go ape shit!!!!!
Then as we park Greg comes over and say's to strap into the Vette for our final ride.
We get going about 3-4 lap's in he piurs it too the coals,my cheeks hurt so bad from smiling I was getting a headache lol.
We literally passed every car out there the corners were amazing, the straight brought us to 160mph!!!
I must say I have not had this much fun in a hell of a long time. I pretty much sure I will have this chubby for the next few days.
What a great experience MFBA was!.
I would suggest anyone interested in this to get in touch with Todd Zimmer for his GT Track days in June. He and his group of instructors are great guys that want to have alot of fun safely. Which was a big concern of mine going on to the track. That concern was gone in a few short seconds with his and Daves help.
Thanks to all the guy's that helped me have a great time today!!!!!
And thank's to CSI Performance for lunch!!!!!
Josh thanks for the pictures I can't wait to see them.
Sorry this is so long I could not fit it in any shorter!!!!!!
Greg thanks for both rides!!!

Coop.

Yeah getting a ride convinced me to get my ride ready for Todd Z's track day.

Get yourself some Hawk Blue or Black pads for the front, fresh fluid in the brakes, and you're good to go. Seriously. :thumbsup:D

I did Saturday lunch touring. This was my third time on the track. I did an actual day with Northwoods Shelby Club in '06, but my car wasn't setup for turning at that point.

I have to say the touring was fabulous. Just enough speed and fun to really have a great afternoon, but not too hard on the car. I ended up leaving the track and driving another 3 hours in the country side. Was a great day.

I'm down for another go. Need to check out dates and confirm with work schedule.

damm Nan! that was way back when the original coordinators the Speed Seekers ran the show! My car got pounded on that day! blown struts, cooked brakes, 4 popped relays and a shit ton of fuses fried in 1 session:rolf But Rudy white-knuckled the entire time was priceless:thumbsup:goof

good to see you up there coop! glad greg didn't make you puke.. lol

not if it were only this easy to get people into road racing.... maybe we should have a ladder system, if you can make it through a ride in my car, you get a ride with nan, you make it through that, ride with greg or todd... lol

""We need to get a huge BCM showing for this I would put my bottom dollar on it being an great time for everyone."

Yes! When we go, there are always 5-10 non-drivers/people with cars not ready yet/etc who come up to watch, BS on chairs in back of the trailer , go out Fri and Sat nights and catch rides if they are not driving. It is a traditional April and October get-together for us.

I never had an empty passenger seat both days...200 lbs ballast but oh well, it's not a race...still got the 2:2x laptime I was looking for :)

Event is SO well run, and I am going to have to learn faster again...the GTR is reliable so far (knock wood) so going to get instructor ridealong next time...(must...finish...3000GT!)always a challenge, always a blast!

I didn't know you were there - in the GTR I'm assuming? I have never been more impressed with the sound that comes out of a car as I was when I heard the motified GTRs coming up passed the pits.

Oh hell yes. There used to be a pretty decent showing of BCMers waaaay back in the day when it was ran by a few from here. This weekend was by far the most I've seen up there together in a while. :thumbsup I also never had an open passenger seat which is fine by me.

I like your thinking. You will see me there in June but I don't think I will run my car because I don't think that I will be quite ready for it. What I would like to do is just go up there and ride along with as many people there as I can so I can learn a bunch of things from different people.

And damnit Murry post up those vid's of your car screaming under the Sargento bridge! :rolf

I would also love to that someday. I wonder how the '95 Mustang would handle a open track day? I got the brakes just not the talent. hmmmmmmm

I got to passenger a 95 Cobra R in autocross. It was the real deal. I took months for me to stop talking about it. So Coop I can total understand how pumped up you were.

BCM has to get a track day together, that would be outstanding.
