Ok I have a little dilema. Just want some options.

Right now I have a Panasonic 42" TV.

and I also have a Panasonic surround sound system with wireless rear speakers.

Heres my dilema. I would like to get 5.1 out of my ps3 and my cable box. But the way I have it hooked up right now is my ps3 and cable box are hooked up to the tv through HDMI cables and then I have a optical cable going from my TV to my receiver. My tv can not pass anything over 2 channels through the optical cable. Basically I would like to have my ps3, cable box, and xbox hooked up so I dont have to keep switching optical and hdmi cables around. I know there are switches out there but they are as much as a receiver. Am I kind of SOL here?

PS3 can switch to just optical out even though you are using the HDMI port. So just run an optical to the stereo and re-run sound setup.

(actually it can output audio to both HDMI and optical since the last firmware patch)

Yeah but then I would still have to switch the optical between the ps3 and my cable box. My receiver only has one optical in.

basically I'm trying to get it so I dont have to switch cables every time I want to either watch tv or watch a movie on my ps3.

I would just get a new receiver but my rear speakers are wireless so I would think I would have to get a whole new setup if I wanted a new receiver.
