Just put on my stainless steel Bassani off road x pipe, and man does the car sound different....A little raspy, but that could be caused by the flowmasters that are on there right now. There are definitely some gains from it across the rpm band. Just need to get the car tuned and see just how much of a gain there is. Thanks to Jim for all of his help and lift, Joe for his supervision (lol), and Tom for his testing my "posi" on the rack.

It is, a little raspy, in Joe's opinion a little too raspy. I dont know what kind of flowmasters that are on my car even, since it came with them on. I will probably change them out eventually too, but I am open to peoples opinions. Didnt you have Flowmasters on your car Ryan? But then again, you have an h pipe

I have flows with an H pipe - and I don't mind it.

I tried bassani catback with the H-pipe and it sounded like hell - but sounded great with an X pipe.

I think the X pipe is what's making it raspy. I heard Borla stingers behind an Xpipe and it created a funny feeling in my pants - maybe look into that?

I dont think nicks are 40's. I think ryans are 40's and his sounds really good.

I had the BBK x-pipe on my fox with flowmaster 40's and I think BBK shorty headers and I loved it. I didn't have tailpipes though, my flowmasters dumped right infront of the rear axle. Not sure if it would change the sound at all, but the engine was slightly worked over to a 306. Not sure if 4 cubic inches is capable of changing the pitch of the exhaust note...

Yours wasn't too raspy, Stew? I've never been a big fan of mustangs, but they do have a badass exhaust note - I've always found myself liking exhausts that maintained the tone and bubble sound.

Mine is a bit raspy, but I like it. She's got some bark to her and she is loud when I put my foot in her. I think it sounds cool as shit. It's gonna be a bit yet before the Bassani goes on, so you prolly will have a chance to here it this summer.

Are the flows welded in? I'd just get a cheap set of bullet mufflers. IMO they all sound pretty close to each other, at least the straight thru ones.
