I need the cam bearings replaced on my lq4 that I'm building. Does anyone recommend any particular shop locally?

Thanks for any help...

^ I would like to hear the story behind the bad AMS experience. I haven't heard anything but good things with them actually. I think if you or someone you know had a bad experience, it would benefit the rest of us to know that. Especially those of us considering some of these machine shops for work

I just texted him to say something, but i believe he has said something before on here.

I believe I've heard bad things about every shop. I'm just using a ball hones until I get the desired bore diameter in my block. Then I'll load the block in the diswasher. Will cascade ruin the cam bearings? Even if it's the spot free formula?

C&S built my LS1, and I've seen some pretty badass LS motors there. They definitely know what they're doing there, with pretty much every kind of engine under the sun. All brands, diesel, motorcycle, import. Super nice and helpful guys. Also I just had them install cam bearings in a 5.3, it was $35 which included the new bearings, pounding out the old ones, installing the new ones.

Even the "Good" machine shops have their F-ups. If you were building a Ford I would say DO NOT have it done locally...

Thanks for your link to your ams thread. I would bet hey took on a unique motor such as yours when they didn't know enough about those. Either way, something to think about moving forward with my project
