Not looking for anything too crazy, just something that is easy to use and looks good.

What about something like this?

Or this one for a little less money and will probably get better results out of:

SONY DSC-T90

I have the T-100 and a T-200. The 100 is actually superior in picture quality. The 200 has touch screen controls.

For the money this little pocket camera has an awesome lens.

I was just going to link that!

My mom picked that same one up to replace her aging S2IS, and I played around with it for a while, it is excellent! Picture clarity is ridiculous.
I would definitely buy that if I were to pick up a point&shoot. :headbang

My brother has a touch screen Sony, paid like $500, and it takes shit pictures honestly, they look like cell phone pictures sometimes. :confused

If you want a large P&S camera then go with what you have picked out

if you want a smaller P&S that will run circles around those bigger ones, then get yourself a Canon S90

can do all the functions as those monster fake SLR's lol

ISO performance is OUTSTANDING.

I'd get a G10 or G11 over the S90.

you obviously have not used one, nor compared it to the g10/11.

I have the G10 and S90. G10 never leaves the house. S90 goes with me everywhere. Nothing like having a full manual camera that shots in RAW with excellent ISO performance, while the same still slides in your front pocket. I would love to see ANY of those cameras posted in here do that.

Nah, I looked at one and a relative has one. The S90 seems to focus slower and the G10 has a shoe which I value more than size. As I'm a "portly" person, the millimeters and twice the weight between the S90 and G10 is essentially negligible. I think my fingernail clippings weigh more. And I only wear shirts with pockets to work. I don't really give a poop about the size if it's blurry. The flash is nice to stop time. I don't bother with the RAW mode.

g10 with a 430 to 580 = fail.

plain and simple

But not failing as much as S90 and weenie onboard flash.

if your going to bestbuy to purchase and the items arent on sale. print out the sheet on the same camera gear from B&H photo and bring it in. BB has always price matched B&H for me without a issue. ive dont it multiple times and at 4 different best buys now in 3 different states. itll usually allow you to save a few buck to buy those SD cards and extra stuff. which they will also price match from B&H.
