You can complain about tonight, but Friday was plain stupid...the guy hit a golf shot at a pitch he had no business swinging at.

If he keeps this up, sure....Pujols is ridiculous, Holliday not too bad either. The Pujols shot wasn't a surprise, Holliday's was more dissapointing.

My money is he still has a pretty damn good year, I never expected him to match 09' though.

I honestly hope so. I feel bad for him, but we need to have a good season to warrant the payroll or it will be back to the 90's again.

Sorry. Fell asleep before seeing it. It didn't sound good though. Glad we eeked out a win.

Hoffman is the closer-version of Jeff Suppan. Anyone who likes AC/DC that much is a homo anyways.

up to 3 blown saves now so far this season. Last night was really bad....2 homers one being a grand slam? Ouch. I think Trevor Time is over...time

Last night was the worst I've seen in a long time. Don't think he will be playing next year. Seems like he's over the hill now, I guess there comes a time when you just don't have it anymore.

Only one other guy in the league with 3 blown saves. League in Seattle is the other.

Make that 4 blown saves.

:rolf excellent! Lets keep putting him in then and see how many we can give away.

I just read an interview with Macha saying he's not even really thinking about making closer changes. I wonder if he will re-evaluate things now.....

jbiscuit
04-28-2010, 03:14 PM
...and that should about do it. Pirates just scored in the top of the 10th.

We should have a good shot at the home run record this year. So that's nice. It be better if it was for hitting them, not giving them up. But hey a record is a record.

just as I predicted.....

Macha needs to go to!

Time to change his song to Ride On.

I'd say it's time to change from "Hells Bells" to "Jingle Bells". :(

1 year can make a lot of difference.
He can't be dominant forever, and he just doesn't have it anymore.

Was pretty weird seeing him get booed last night.
Time to hang it up before he becomes a joke.

I didn't get where Macha pulled Corey Hart for Edmonds in the 10th with men on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Hart has been hitting well, and had a HR earlier. Him getting a game winning hit could really help turn the guy around. Instead Edmonds come in and hit a fly ball to left that didn't even advance the runners. Sure Edmonds made a nice catch in the 11th, but he wouldn't of even had to had he hit the ball.

I don't like how Macha loves the old guys so damn much.

I too was confused by that move. Hopefully Trevor can find something in himself again and hit the 600 mark, then I think it may be time to hang it up. I'm sure with being this close to 600 he will still stick around.

Not to mention he swung on the first pitch. :durr

Was watching MLB Network, and a lil bit ago Mitch Williams said:

"he can't throw the fastball by anyone anymore, so people are just waiting back on the change-up...looks like he's throwing BP out there. I think his pride will tell him to retire before 600, because he knows he is hurting the Brewers chance at the post-season if he continues like this"

PB86MCSS

He couldn't throw fast last year either....same speed. No more changeup or a severe drop off, not sure if he has some issue he is hiding or what. He got guys out with the change last year with huge success, keeping guys off balance. We'll see if he can make adjustments, if he just throws fastballs like this people will tee off pretty easily (see Suppan).

Corrected. ;)

Karps TA

Turnbow's problem was he couldn't find the plate. He'd walk 3 guys and then groove a fastball down the middle.

With Hoffman, there's just not enough difference in speed between his fastball and change to make them look different. Plus he used the shit out of the changeup all last season. So people are expecting it.

It's too bad for the guy. But shit he's 42. I forgot he was that old.

Ya lose some, ya win some. Hoffman looked great and Gallardo was very good on the mound. Lots of runners left on base though, shiuldve been way more than 2 runs.

It looked good on paper, but that first guy crushed one to the warning track... a little toooooo close.

Yesterday's blown save was painful to hear unfold! I actually think it's more luckbrhan anything if he fools batters anymore. Look at the trend this season. Plus, an 85mph fastball delivered right down the middle is a perfect pitch to drive about 10 rows deep into the bleachers. Shoot any hitter up there with a clue should be able to see that
