Easter Cobra

Ever since the first warm day when the tensioner twisted itself up and took a bunch of other shit with it, my junk has been waiting for it's resurrection.

What could be more appropriate than having a reverend work on it along with Jim (Dr. Buick) and Josepy. There was some other stuff that was done too - but here's the list and some pictures.

The paint on the bumper and trunk lid/spoiler was done by Jason Lisko (he's a member on here, but doesn't post much). He's a great guy and really took his time to make sure that it matched everything.


New front bumper cover (Termi bumper - allows more air to the intercooler)
New trunk lid/spoiler - it was either the flush spoiler or no spoiler, I ended up getting the spoiler in a package deal, so I threw it on.
18x10.5 wheels in the back
315/30 Tires in the back
Bilstein in all 4 corners - brought it down another inch or so
Re-routed BOV
Blower oil change
Motor Oil
New Tenioner, idler & belt
Coolant line O-rings
Fixed random issues that were wrong (stripped bolts and what not)


I couldn't be happier with the stance. I've got about 2 inches (if that!) clearance between my exhaust and the ground. 1 pipe sits a bit low and catches on a speed-bump here and there so I've got to raise that up a bit somehow.

With the BOV in it's new location - the car sounds ridiculous. Not really ricey at all, since it's open all the time unless I'm boost, so it just sounds like a jet.

The biggest improvement is definitely the handing. It was definitely a lumber wagon before - It needs subframes yet, but the cornering is 700x better and the ride is much smoother.

A gates tensioner. Supposedly the gates holds up better than the rest.

It turned out that the tensioner was able to twist because the bolt that goes into the timing cover was stripped out - so the torque pulled the tensioner out and away.

That hole was tapped, and I have 0 belt slip now, so we will see how long this tensioner lasts. I'll probably go the Thump Racing route next time. Coops an expert at removing the blower now, so I'm sure he'd be EXCITED to help! :)

Air filter is on it's way - the plug worked good and has yet to enter any of the cylinders or impeller :)
