Ok, whats the best header bolts and gaskets to use....and is there ANY way to keep from blowing the damn things out every few months?!?!?! SBC btw, I'm tired of replacing/tightening the bolts and/or gaskets so often!

this...had a set on two 4x4 trucks both had studs for manifolds on exhaust...never had a tick or a hiss out of them... i think they were called dead soft copper or something back when I bought them...

I NEVER buy headers that the flange is so thin that they need gaskets-
High quality headers and heat RTV, thats it!
Over 2000hp with NO header gaskets-FTW

I had issues too with my on my 327 Matt. Fel Pro blue manifold gaskets with the High Temp RTV around the ports. Not a leak since.

red rtv only.
you can add a dab to the threads of the bolts to keep them from rattling loose as well

Safety wire is another way to keep temperamental bolts in.

Gaskets are gay...by the way you can get away with using black in a pinch!

the lock bolts are the ticket if your using gaskets

Put a bead of Hi Temp all around header flange. Let sit a night and bolt them on. No leaks ever.

lol!

I like locking header bolts, but not the kind that have a Allen screw in the middle to expand the bolt! Those would would seem to corrode in a season. Maybe not, but that's my thought.
