Threw some egg beater pedals on there right away too.

Mark,

Those pedals are for if you use bicycle shoes. They have a clip fastened to the bottom of them for locking onto the pedals for mtb riding and racing.

Its originally $529 so I think I got a pretty good deal on it. I know it doesn't have the best parts int the world but it will work for what I need it for now. If I start getting into more aggressive riding which I probably will, I will upgrade the parts.
