Anybody know when this is happening, if at all? I just visited their site, and did not see any advertising for it. Did I miss it already...., I thought it usually occured in April.

I wonder if it's even worth going this year because last year I heard the cops showed up pretty fast so no fun was had. I went 2 years ago and it was great (until the cops came but that wasn't until late in the afternoon).

Speed Inc had a bad year financially. Fraser left to go work at another shop just a month ago. I would't be surprised at all if there was no open house this year.

It was a fun trip and all - but the cops were FEROCIOUS once they uncovered the madness.

Seems like the most fun is the drive down. Probably have more fun if 15-20 of us just got together around here.

Almost as many cops there and twice the chance of getting my car hit by an idiot.

Its been 3 years I thinks since I was there last. I dont blame the cops for what they gotta do. It does get pretty crazy down there! Way too many people, waaaay too close to cars burnin out in the street! Im all for havin some fun, but it does get too dangerous there. I could handle it w/o the street fun, I like seeing all the cars and just hangin out. I like to see everyones different takes on generally the same kinds of cars.... (i.e. F-bodies, Corvettes and Mustangs). Would be too bad if they have to resort to no open house/events. Dont like to see these kind of businesses in trouble.

knowing how bad the cops are down there, I'm not too sure how many people will risk the drive down there to get busted and sent home.

FWIW - last year it was actually very "calm". In fact it was probably one of the larger years too. I can't even remember the cops even showing up last year.

Each year is a little different. One year there were great burnouts and everyone was safe, cops drove by after awhile. The next year cops didn't show up at all. The next year people got a little out of control and expected "crazy burnouts". Year after that they got out of hand and there were a ton of cops. Then it quieted down again the next year when everyone thought the cops would swarm.

Pretty much if you don't do anything stupid you have nothing to worry about.

Yeah I went the last two years and I didn't have any problems. I also wasn't doing burnouts or anything. I'll be going just to check out the cars like I usually do.
