my wifes trying to get together clothes and what not some of her friends family lived there.

Unattended candles are cited as the cause. Candles make me nervous even when i'm near them let alone in a room where i can't see them. My wife thinks i'm too paranoid, (and she's prolly right) but I've seen a few too many instances with candles where it'd have turned out real bad if no one was around it at the time it tipped or the glass around it exploded. Anyone else this way with candles too?

My brother started our house on fire once when he was about 12. Somehow he thought it was a good idea to melt wax in a steel pan over an open flame - in his bedroom. Once the wax got too low, it ignited and did a few thousand dollars in damage.

To me, the only good candle is one that's not burning.
