I emailed Scat, asking what size woodruff key I need for my crankshaft since I never got one with my long block. No reply that same day, so I called Scat the next day. I was told it's the same keyway as the GM LS3 crankshaft. (no details beyond that... gee thanks, a part number would be nice. So I go to the dealer and ask what for what I need. They give the the dimensions but say I need to buy five of them and have them shipped from Texas or some shit.
Blah... so I order one online. It gets here like 9 days later. But 2 days ago I finally get an email reply to my initial question but get back a different answer.
Email says its a Small Block Chevy keyway. I had a sneaky feeling this was going to be different and sure as shit it is. The LS3 key is way taller.
So 10 days and $11 dollars down the pisser. Everyone asks why are you not done with that car yet... This is a perfect example why.
Anyone have or know where I can get locally a SBC crankshaft (woodruff) key?
