Anyone want to go to Indianapolis with me? Pick up a bike next Tuesday?

Any rental places have a truck with a hitch on it?

Get to go to Vance & Hines shop and meet Eddie Krawiec if you come :) haha

U-Haul rents pickup trucks and vans with hitches. They also rent trailers. If you bring it back the same day it'll only cost you $50 plus gas.

Will have to try that out. Thanks!

althought it looks like it's $0.59/mile and it's about 270 miles there.

So almost $250 for that one for there and back mileage.

I can tell you from experience that the U-Haul van would probably fit any bike you wanted in it as well. They're pretty decent size Econoline's.

Thanks again!

I just saw an Enterprise ad with a pick up truck in it. What kind of bike? Will it fit in a pick up? U-haul is cheap, but they kill you on mileage. And they only do motorcycle trailers local. When I picked up my Capri the van I rented it was a $1 a mile.

it will fit in the back. just hate having to trust them to have a ramp, guess I could bring one from work too.

You rent the U-Haul as a local. Pick it up early and bring it back before they close and I'm pretty sure they don't check the mileage as long as you rent it as a "local" rental.

Unless they have changed things since December, you are wrong. They check and they charge. A lot.

It's Vance and Hines. They should have a ramp or a fork lift or a loading dock. Or since you are being kind enough to buy their bike they should be able to find four schmucks to lift the bike into the truck.

daily direct would haul it for less than it would cost to rent a u-haul.

So, what is "it" that you're going to git?

If I still had my Duramax I'd be down - but I gave that up for a Jetta TDI a few months back. If you need a trailer, Tom's Trailers in Meno Falls had enclosed bike trailers.

If you needed a trailer I could lend you my snowmobile trailer. It may be kind of overkill but none the less a trailer. Its a 2 place 101x10 with a salt shiled.

Let me know if it would work for you or not and I could bring it to work one day. I work in Waukesha off of bluemound right near Spancrete.

Rent a Trailblazer or Explorer/Mountaineer from Budget, they have factory class 3 hitches with wiring.....:)

If I had any sort of trust for decent people in this country other than my friends, I totally would.
