It's cool that they did that. But I hate making that yearly payment to begin with. The thought of paying even more sickens me. It's why I got rid of my personalized plates.

I'll hopefully get a chance to go down to the DMV tomorrow and find out the wait... and Im trying to get the old style ones only for the fact that I have the ball & glove tattoo.

Because Wisconsin needs A-FUCKING-NOTHER plate choice. And the DMV needs more money when the roads are so bad they've been deemed unsafe and need to be closed.

Who cares if the DMV has 300 ‘special’ plates to choose from, you are not required to buy one.....:confused

I'm sure there are licensing fees to be paid to the Brewers as well as MLB (Packers and the NFL, too.) Does the DMV actually cut a profit from these? What happens in ten years when the Brewers hype fades, then who pays the licensing fees? Everybody who has a car on the road. They are having furlough days because they can't afford to pay the employees. They don't need to be wasting time and money making another specialty plate, if you ask me.

It specifically said in the article on jsonline that the 25 extra a month goes towards paying off miller park, not to paying DMV employees

Plate choices don't bother me, almost 70 for a f-ing title is rediculous. Its a piece of paper for crying out loud. At least with a plate you get some metal. Has paper gone up that much since I used to pay 12.50?:fire

30 years ago a new Cadillac cost $5,000; you are paying for more than a piece of paper or a thin plate of aluminum. If you think WI DMV fees are ridiculous move to IL where they also have tolls.....

I would never move to IL, I am mad when I have to drive through there to get to other states:rolf
Just because someone else is getting boned harder doesn't mean we still aren't getting boned

do you mean that there is a $25/mo charge for custom plates?

if so.. who in there right mind would spend $300/year on a plate!!!??

i thought about getting personal plates for my SRT but if its $300 a year..... PFFT! thats a measureable portion of what i make a year :confused

No, you only pay the extra $25 on top of your yearly registration.. not monthly

Half price with the Ipass isn't bad considering they just finished construction and the tollways flow 398798379x better.

"Hype" goes in cycles, usually tied to having a winning or at least competitive team. Similar (ok not nearly as crazy) to when the Packers were in the Super Bowl years and all the Packer car flags and bandwagon fans, it's like a wave.

Having more choices isn't a bad thing, not sure how it angers anyone...don't like it? Don't get one. I am curious on the breakdown of how much goes to the DOT/DMV/Brewers maybe Brewers charities if anything but it doesn't really bother me how it is divided. If the current style logo/colors matched my daily I'd consider it.

5k for a new caddy in 1980!?! Which caddy sold new for 5k in the past 50 years?

For reference, a 1982 Cimarron sold for $12,000.

My example was inaccurate but the point was everything (including DMV fees) will go up in price over time.....:thumbsup

I didn't read over my post, 25 extra per year, even for me as a dirt poor college student I think I can swing that.

its rediculous how many diffrent plate options we have. I personally have a collector, collector special, personalized and a couple regular plates. The collectors are nice cause its a one time fee and never have to worry bout registration again.
