I haven't found a really addicting game and or anything but the metal dectector app and the barcode scanner are kinda cool. Lots of useful ones like Pandora, Facebook, Stocks look up and Weather Bug. Advanced Task Killer is nice too cause I can close all apps running in the background with a single click.

barcode scanner was supposed to be a app where you scan a price of an item at a store and the app would find the same item at different prices at other stores. Dunno how good it works or it thats its final design.

I have an HTC Dream Android phone. Best app I have is wireless tether so I can turn the phone into a wifi hotspot using the phones 3G connection. But of course you cant run that app without hacking the phone and rooting it. :)

Its not that hard just find a tutorial over on the xda developers forum and follow it very carefully, should you make a mistake there is a risk you brick the phone.

If it is rooted it lets you have complete access to your phone, If its not rooted you cant run apps like wifi tether to connect your laptop to the internet using your phones 3g connection or other apps that require total access to your phone.

I would look into flashing your phone with the Cyanogen rom, its a rooted rom and runs alot faster than the original rom. You can find tutorials on how to install it on wikipedia.
