Anyone know anyone looking for a home in Brookfield? 4000+ square feet, finished basement, 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 2 half baths, HWF and Marble on first floor, Granite countertops, 3 car garage and much more.

PM me for more details, trying to help out my parents by getting this sold asap. I am in the house now untill it sells so if someone wants to see it, that can be easily arranged!

Haha, hey, it's always worth a shot though, it's all about networking. Someone here, someones boss, someones relative, a recent lottery winner, whatever works!

OK :rolf Well anyways, here are some buzz words that I think should help you with your search being a potential first time homebuyer:

formica

You know what really makes you realize how much some houses are worth. Sometimes my wife and I will take a walk with the dog along lake drive and she will comment something to the effect of "Damn, that house is really nice. Looks like it has, this and that, blah blah... Do you ever think we will live in something like that?" So for shits and giggles I looked up the tax bill on the house and pointed out to her that even if the owners GAVE us the house for free, the tax bill alone is more than what we pay for our house now and that we couldn't even afford the taxes + basic maintenance.

So while I don't think the taxes on this house are *that* bad I'm sure they are pretty steep. So yea Johnny what are the taxes that bad boy? 10-15k?

Last year was just shy of 11K down from just over 12K for 2008. Less than half of the taxes on their new house in Texas, part of the reason they want to sell this house ASAFP!!!!

a good site to check for taxes on the house and what it sold for or is selling for is www.zillow.com ANY address, anywhere and most times includes pics too.

MLS Listing?

Agreed. An MLS should be included with any home posted for sale here. Not bagging but it would make it easier for folks looking. Then you can take the bidding to PM.

$11k at just under 2% for Brookfield means like a $550k house. Parents looking to adopt?

John, doesn't the lower also have a kitchenette? and Ground level laundry/folding room?

The main kitchen is gorgeous, as well as the house is built on nice hill with the backside of the house overlooking the subdivision with a beautiful view.

It might be assessed by the state at 550k, but that don't mean it's going to sell for that in today's market.

out of curiousity, and forgive me for taking the thread off topic, but how is the efficiency of a house rated/calculated?

Usually by the furnace, not a real accurate number. You could have 95 percent efficient furnace and single pain windows :)
