i can't find a Tap to drill bit conversion chart. I need to tap a 10mmx1.5 thread and don't know what size drill bit i need to buy. Some one point me in the right direction???

after looking at this one a 10mm would be a 25/64 drill bit.. ??? i think.

found it i need a metric bit oh goody 8.7 mm drill

I would just use a 11/32 drill if you have one. It is only .001" bigger than the 8.7mm.

Just google tap drill size and you should be golden. Also, for metric threads you can usually subtract the pitch from the major diameter and come up with the minor, aka tap drill size.

Make sure you get the right drill size according to what kind of tap you are using, IE cutting tap or forming. Otherwise there are plenty of charts online.

i dont' know how i couldn't find one before i swear i typed in tap drill size and i got nothing the first site tran am found i wen to the metric tap and found it right away. 11/32 bit it is then since its easier to find :)thanks for the help
