Instead of having to use the cap to hold down the plate holder when filling up, there is a spring/mechanism in the 3rd gen f-body one that it lays flat automatically. I think the 90's b-bodies have this too. I heard about it many years ago but never bothered until very recently to "modify" mine.

3rd gen Camaros....IIRC 3rd gen T/A & Firebirds have it on the quarter panel.

:goof , well in case you get one down the road I guess it will help :D . Alot of them were missing off the Al's cars but they always seem to get fresh 3rd gens often enough.
