When did it turn to a craphole?
Went there for the first time in about 3 years today. Last time I'm going there. Not much of a mall person but Brookfield Square and even Mayfair are far superior. Bunch of empty spots, people selling crap in the middle that reminded me of when I used to go to 7 mile fair in the 90's.
We only went there because we were in the area and I had a craving for Taco John's and they used to have one, now it's Taco Place:rolf but still have the same items for the most part including Potato Ole's errr seasoned tater tots:rolf

At least 10 years ago. Got even worse when Northridge shut down.

I also don't like going there, feels kinda junky...people complain about certain things about Mayfair, but Southridge doesn't compare IMO.

It turned crappy when mayfair put a stricter age limit. Don't know if southridge has it. There's been a lot of crap go down there.

The ghetto can't go to Northridge anymore, and they'll get kicked out of Mayfair...

There's been shootings there every Christmas season for the past few years too...

Everything about this forum is racist. :rolf

Southridge went down the proverbial toilet a long, long time ago. Plenty o' hood rats lurk in that mall now.

It needs to be shut donw, just like they did Northridge and turn it in to a Super Walmart. We don't have enough Walmarts around here, we could use another. :chair:

Well I guess now there going to be building some Elderly type housing where the old blood center used to be and I think in the South parking lot.

So South Ridge is gonna be the race track for the old people during the day hours and then at night It'll be the drive by learing center.

The fact that Sears and Kohls are there really save that mall. Steve and Barrys was cool too.

Otherwise that mall is shit.

This is what i usually went there for, but its closed. $8 knock off karthart (or w/e) coats were awesome! the zipper broke EVERY time though.

That mall is garbage. Sears and maybe 1 or 2 more are carrying that mall.

.........and really?... 2 gamestops in 1 mall? http://www.gamestop.com/StoreLocator.aspx

The reason why is when Gamestop purchased Electronics Boutique they still have to pay for the lease of the old stores until it runs out. If you have to pay for the place, may as well use it.

We don't go to Southridge anymore. Most of the time I shop online unless I need it right away. We want to go to Kohl's we go to Stallis location. I'd rather drive the extra distance. I really think if it was in the City of Greenfield and not Greendale it would be Policed better.

In high school I used to go there all the time. Even worked at the Kohls there one Xmas.

Last time I was there was like 6 years ago and I couldn't believe what a shit hole it turned into. All I saw was a bunch of wannabe gang bangers walking around with their pants down to their knees.

Since I work down the road from there, I'll pop in for lunch from time to time...during that hour it's not so bad...never really go to shop though.

But I'm surprised that it's no longer a taco john's---was when I last went a couple months ago.

YES! You are correct sir. I think it use to be where Kohls is now? I remember it being a two level store and they had all sorts of cool stuff. They also had the icee machine too where they sold hotdogs and such. I haven't had an Icee in years, they were so good. :headbang

I also do remember the movie house in there. My, my how time flies.

I worked at Woolworths in High School and Musicland both at Southridge. Woolworths was not two levels. It was located at the end I believe down by sears. I was the guy/kid working at the snack stand, 1984.

I don't get it though, because the food is all the sameSame vendors supplying the food, same employee's making it...same basic menu.

Wonder what caused the change though? Taco John's not getting their franchise fee or owner tired of paying it?

I remember Spencers being really freaky way back when too. It had like a ramp and a second level on the one side. I remember it having wooden barrels with like peacock feathers and crap. Almost more of a hemp shop / hippie den back then. Lot different then the sex shop it is now.

Southridge was nice 10+ years ago. I used to hang out there when Time Out was around and McDonalds had that jungle themed store upstairs.

I got third place in a Super Street Fighter II competition there in like 1993 or some shit.

We try not to go there anymore unless it's to World Market. Which kids don't care about.

03-22-2010, 04:43 PM
Blah, its a place to shop. I can give 2 fucks about whos around me, im not there to socialize or give a shit what anyone else is doing. I dont understand what the big deal is. Mayfair has a bunch of spoiled little rich fuck kids that are just as annoying to me. Feels like St. Thomas More High School all over again. Malls are a breeding ground for teenage kids who have nothing else better to do, ghetto or spoiled fucks, its all the same to me, I hate both equally and as long as they dont mess with me there is no problem.
