Hi guys,

I'd like to improve the "sound" of my Mustang a bit by replacing the muffler. Do you have any suggestions? The prices range quite a bit and I am not sure which one would work best for me.

I don't care for a high performance muffler but the sound should be great (and the car still has to pass emission tests :D)

What is the year of this Mustang? What kind of motor are we talking about? 4.6?

I bought Cherry Bomb Extreme 55506 for my car, which I love and they were $249 to my door complete. I bought Cherry Bomb 55507 for my friend Chris for Christmas (deeper, quieter tone) and we both live in the local area.

Best exhaust is probably Corsa, but it is the most expensive. The FRPP Stingers are really a good exhaust system, but probably $425.

Since you have a convertible, you DO NOT want anything that drones at all. I would think FRPP Stingers would be your best "low-cost" solution. Also sound great when the top is down!

Check out SSS exhaust. I think they are relatively new to the Mustangs. My next purchase. I have Borlas now, had SLP Loudmouths (very LOUD!) and had the FRPP 5203's. These sound pretty good to me.

Thanks for the replies.

I have a 2008 Mustang Convertible, V6.

How much do I have to spend for the installation? I don't expect it to be too complicated but I want to get it done right ;-)

And yes, I don't want to have one that drones. It should sound good but not too extreme. And it should sound good with closed AND open top.

Do you know a good specialist where I might drive to who could order and install the new system? I know that sounds boring but I really have two left hands :shades

V6 will be harder to get a nice exhaust note out of. I'd go Borla or Magnaflow weld in mufflers.

Sounds pretty good! It's Magnaflow.

LOL at the comments on that video..

sounds pretty good so don't take this as bashing you but you should've got a flowmaster instead of magnaflow..they're built to perform with fords where as magnaflow is geared towards chevys. :rolf:rolf

Borla sounds pretty good too

Flowmaster. I'm a big fan of the chambered sound on mustangs, but hey sound a bit tinny with a v6.
