So I called the local scrap place and they said call a junkyard. Do you just trailer a car/truck to a scrap yard to get this payout?

Junkyard gives me $0

I can take it to a junkyard without a title and get zero dollars. I'm just wondering if a title is required to get cash from a recycling place..
