Looking at building a 6-foot chain link fence once the ground thaws. I have 100 feet of fencing, posts, gate, etc. already but I am in need of more material - more chain-link, more posts, drive-thru gate, single walk gate, end caps, etc.

Where would be my best source?

I looked at the local Menards and they have most, but not everything I would need. My uncle is bringing his big John Deere with a post-hole digger, so that will be a huge help. I still think I need a chain-link stretcher to borrow, but I think I can rent those at certain places.

Thanks!

Try this Michelle. My ex worked for then a long time ago when they used to be in Stallis. http://www.masterhalco.com/

They didn't, previous owners did a half ass job installing it and its been rotting for a few years so it needed replacing :)

all you need is a come-along and a flat bar to stretch the fence. Like some said before master halco is always good with product, we get a lot of our materials from them.

After having the holes dug back in February, we are finally done with our fence project! Luckily we don't build fences for a living since it took us so long to complete it. (:

On to the pictures:

Still a few things to finish up, but they can enjoy it for now. Only have a 4' drive-thru gate on there now, so we have to pick up a 5' gate and deal with the slope somehow. Howie already attempted to go underneath.

So glad it's usable now! Soon we can have other doggies over! (:

Thanks Justin.

Anybody know the best way to have a drive gate on a slight slope?

Couldn't you put it on the back side/side towards the woods? Looks level on that part.

We put the gate posts where it was most useful (coming off the driveway) and in a section that seemed to be relatively level compared to other places on that same strip. I think we're just stuck with using two gates that won't be level with each other (so that it keeps our little Howie from crawling underneath) or making our own gate section that isn't rectangular in shape that matches the slope.

damn that's a huge yard. What is the SQ footage of the dog pen?

It's ~ 70'x70'. We used a little under 200' of fencing.

We have 2.7 acres, so to me the area is small when you look at the rest of yard behind the house and in front of the house. Oh well, less area to look for landmines in!

4900 sq ft is bigger than my backyard. But with 2.7 acres I bet it really nothing.
